Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is the BJP’s candidate in Gorakhpur city center in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls. The party leader and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said this while announcing the list of candidates for 108 seats in the first phase on Saturday. 63 MLAs have got a place in the list.

BJP has also fielded Deputy Chief Minister Keshab Prasad Maurya in the Assembly polls. He will fight in the Sirathu center of Kaushambi district near Prayagraj. Incidentally, both Yogi and Keshab are currently members of the upper house of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

Voting in the 403-seat Uttar Pradesh Assembly in seven phases will start from February 10 and will end on March 7. Whether Yogi-led BJP will get landslide victory again or whether Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party will surprise, the answer will come on March 10.

Ministers like GS Dharmesh, Sandeep Singh, Gulab Devi, and Sangeet Som, have been included in the BJP’s list of candidates. Incidentally, initially, there was speculation that Yogi Adityanath could be a candidate from the city center of Ayodhya.
