Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity has been renewed and is now no longer a barrier to receiving foreign grants. The agency’s Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) license has been renewed. The clearance was given on Saturday. On December 25 last year, the center closed a key source of funding, stating that the company’s FCRA license would not be renewed. The decision came a week or two later. However, no statement has been issued by the central government so far.

Due to the revocation of the license, it was difficult for the organization to get foreign grants. The Missionaries of Charity operates many orphanages and shelters for the poor, the sick, and the destitute across India. Most of which goes to foreign grants.

But the revocation of the license stopped the flow of foreign funds into more than 250 accounts of the company. Transactions in multiple bank accounts, including the Missionaries of Charity State Bank of India, were forced to close without permission to use foreign funds.
