There are many benefits to buying tickets for long-distance travel. The convenience of buying tickets online from home has become quite popular. Ticket sales from IRCTC’s portal and app are increasing day by day. However, a large number of people still go to the railway station to book tickets.
This time the work will be done when you go to the post office near home. The railway is first launching this service from Uttar Pradesh, the largest state in the country. Train tickets will be booked from all post offices in the state. Railways plan to gradually offer this service across the country.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishno will inaugurate the service from 9,148 post offices in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, railway sources said. The service will be launched simultaneously across the state through an event from the main post office in Lucknow.
Rail claims that even though online ticketing is popular, many people still cannot afford it. Depends on the agents. For this, people have to spend extra in addition to the ticket cost.
Railways claim that passengers do not have to pay extra service prices if tickets are sold from the post office. At the same time, fraud on train tickets will be stopped. However, the railways claim that the people in the remote rural areas will get the most benefits. There are also post offices in areas far from the railway station. As a result, passengers do not have to travel long distances to buy tickets.
