Several teenagers and women were injured when they stepped on a marathon run organized by the Congress in Bareilly on Tuesday. Thousands of competitors took part in the marathon organized by former Bareilly mayor and Congress leader Supriya Arun. Many women and teenagers were present at the rally in line with Priyanka Gandhi’s slogan ‘Ladki huh, lad Sakti huh’.
Allegedly, no distance was observed in Corona. A Video footage shows that many of the contestants do not even have masks on their faces. According to local sources, a few people fell to the ground in a stampede soon after the race started. Many trampled on them.
In this regard, Arun Safai said, “No ban has been imposed on political activities in the state. Apart from that, in the situation of Covid-19, there has been an incident of death by stepping on a pilgrimage site like Vaishnodevi. ” He also expressed concern that there may be a conspiracy behind the incident.
The Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh are scheduled to start from next February. Though the situation in Corona is worrying across the country, the Election Commission has not announced the postponement of Assembly polls in five states, including Uttar Pradesh.
