On the first day of the year, Narendra Modi directly disbursed funds for the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) project to farmers’ bank accounts. Prime Minister Modi on Saturday distributed the tenth installment of the PM-Kisan project. According to sources in the Prime Minister’s Office, the money has been delivered to more than 100 million farming families across the country. The project has cost Rs 20,900 crore from government funds.
The center pays a total of Rs 8,000 in three installments at a cost of Rs 2,000 per financial year. The second installment was paid to the farmers of the country last August. So far, 109 million farmers have received financial assistance for the project, said Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
Modi on Saturday gave an equity grant of Rs 14 crore to 351 agro-manufacturing companies in a virtual meeting organized on the occasion of financing the ‘Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi’ project. As a result, 1 lakh 24 thousand farmers will be benefitted.
