Expert says- our country might experience a major spike in the trend of omicron cases in Jan and Feb, next year. They also said that this variant is likely to surpass the speed of Delta variant spreading. However, according to a senior officer, infections due to omicron may remain mild. A detailed modeling study has been performed to predict the severity of omicron. But obviously, it is good news that after many studies, it has been already proved that the spike does not have any reason for panic.

The infection due to the virus seems to be heading towards endemicity. In this stage, the transmissibility rate will remain high. However, the virus is unlikely to cause any serious disease.

In the meantime, WHO states that omicron is growing at a record pace. They have added that the virus is already present in most countries. However, only 77 of them have reported the cases.

The officials state that people don’t have any reason to panic right now. However, they maintain the fact that to remain safe, the situation needs to be under strict control. Despite WHO’s claim that omicron is likely to spread quicker than Delta Variant, health officials state that omicron infection may not succeed in overwhelming the healthcare system of the country. The high-risk population of the nation can be protected with vaccination. Therefore, there is no reason to panic.
