A final year MBBS student of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), Patna has been rusticated from the college has been rusticated by the authority after confirmation of his bad work done on the pre-night of Holi festival. On that day, he entered a girls’ hostel in the drunken and semi-naked state. The student had allegedly consumed “Bhang” and wine on 27th February in a pre-Holi festival and entered adjacent girls hostel. After entering in the hostel, suddenly his bottom cloth part (‘Lungi’) had fallen off which caused a major embarrassment to the girls of the hostel. After that, the incident was confirmed by the college authority and after confirmation; the college authority has taken the action.
After the incident, the student has left the college campus. His parents have been informed regarding the incident and a letter has been sent to his home. And a junior student has been asked to escort him home. Director of the college Mr PK Singh told that the student has been rusticated for 3 years. He also mentioned that the college authority will talk to the aggrieved students again as the career of a medico was at stake. On the other hand, another senior member of the administration said that the medic had been suspended only from college with an immediate effect, he is not rusticated.
Mr. Prabhat Kumar Singh, the director, said that right now they are charting the future course of caution. They have already checked the college background of the student and found no abnormality in his past. He also mentioned that the student was not a bad guy. The student definitely had consumed something alcoholic substance or tobacco, which made him act differently. According to Mr. P K Singh, initially the authority spread the news of rustication to neutralize the agitation of the girls’ students but later they decided to suspend him only otherwise it will affect his career.
The student originally hails from Kerala. On 27th February, all the final year students were having fun at an open ground and while ran into a hostel, suddenly his ‘lungi’ came off. Immediately hostel security apprehended him and escorted him out.
However, just for now, the officials have said that the security of girls’ hostel will also be beefed up. A few guards will be deployed outside the gates of the girls’ hostel. But in this situation, a part of the authority are angry over the administration for taking action against the student. According to them, all the students including girls organized a party at 6 pm, with due permission of the college authority. All the boys and girls of the MBBS and nursing colleges took part in the party. In the event, many girls were even seen in half-naked shorts and seductive dresses. The student against whom the tough action has been taken is known as a studious boy. Why only should he punish? What about other drunken male and females? What about the security guards, who was deployed to protect?
