The Shiv Sena president Mr. Uddhav Thackeray, who has always breached noise level norms during the rally in Dusshera festival, was recently irritated by the noise level created by a DJ playing at a hotel in  Mahabaleshwar of Maharashtra.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Mr. Sandip Patil said that after receiving a complaint from Mr. Thakeray, of loud music and violation of noise level in the hotel, immediately a police team was sent to the hotel and a case was registered under the Bombay Police Act (BPA).

The Shiv Sena chief was staying in Evershine Keys hotel. It was alleged that after Thakeray filed a complaint, last week the hotel was sealed by the Pollution Control Board of Maharashtra. However, environment minister Mr. Ramdas Kadam, rubbishes the report and claimed that the action was taken against the hotel for illegal construction of room of more than twenty numbers.

Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Mr. Sachin Sawant claimed that the action of pollution control board came after Thackeray, who was “irritated” by the loud music being played at a party being held at Evershine Keys Resort on 7th December, complained to Maharashtra Environment Minister Mr. Ramdas Kadam.

The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) issued the closure notice to the hotel, located at the famous hill station in Mahabaleshwar. The government also disconnected water and power supplies.

Source said, Shiv Sena Chief Thackeray tried to convey his message to the organizers to lower the volume of music, but to no avail since the family claimed to be close relatives of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator from Vidarbha and hence they ignored Thackeray.

NCP spokesperson Mr. Nawab Malik said that the action of pollution control board shows that Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya are not on the same page when it comes to late night party.

He also said, “Aaditya Thackeray is a strong proponent of night life entertainment, while his father is annoyed when a nearby hotel plays loud music at night”.  “The Thackeray family have to decide what they want”.

Ramdas Kadam, said the action was taken after the hotel was found to have violated environmental norms. A senior official of MPCB said they had issued a notice to the hotel seeking their reply on a series of violations of environmental norms and had given it 3 days to take corrective measures for those violations.

A senior officer of MPCB board said, “The sewage treatment plant of the hotel was not fully functioning. The hotel had more rooms than the allowed limit and there was a violation of noise level”.

A Shiv Sena leader said, “Uddhavji was staying in a bungalow near the hotel with his family and people in the vicinity were irritated due to the noise level. We asked the hotel authorities and party organizers to bring down the noise level, but they did not listen to us”. “And even police also asked them to reduce the noise but they did not pay attention, hence I contacted Mr. Ramdas Bhai and informed him about the same.”
