TV Star and Comedian Kapil Sharma recently faced a major downfall due to his fallout with Sunil Grover. He was once called the ‘Comedy King’ for his TV program ‘The Kapil Sharma Show. Yesterday he cracked a joke on his fight with co-star Sunil Grover. The show’s cast was performing inside a mock airplane. They were quarreling among themselves when an air hostess (Kiku Sharda) asked a meek Kapil to intervene.
Kapil said, “I don’t speak on flights these days”. Cricketer Guest Mr. Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina laughed heartily at his joke. Kapil Sharma was referring to his PR nightmare of a fight with Sunil Grover in March 2017. The Kapil Sharma’s team was on an Air India Melbourne-Delhi-Mumbai flight with the rest of the cast when a fight broke out between them because Kapil allegedly got angry at his team for eating before him.
After months of reporting on the Kapil and Sunil fight, in a fresh development of sorts, it seems that Kapil Sharma is resorting to some seriously low blows to increase his TRPs.
In this recent episode of the Kapil Sharma show, Mr. Kapil made a joke on his ‘fight on flight’ incident with Mr. Sunil Grover. In the mock airplane, Kapil Sharma kept mum all through the act and when asked to intervene by someone, he said, “Main aajkal flight mein nahi boltal. (Now a day I don’t speak on flights)”.
This joke got his guests, Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina in splits. For those who are unaware after Kapil Sharma abused Sunil Grover and other actors on a flight from Melbourne, where they had performed a successful show, the latter quit the show. Drunken Kapil Sharma not only abused Sunil’s work but also physically abused Sunil by throwing a shoe at him.
After the incident, Mr. Sunil Grover took to the social media to message Kapil, asking him to treat people like humans. On the other had Kapil Sharma said that it’s a family matter and he will resolve the issue very soon. After the incident not only Sunil Grover, other actors on the show, like Chandan Prabhakar and Ali Asgar too made their exit.
Sunil Grover who used to perform as Dr. Mashur Gulati on the show had a huge fan base. And interestingly, the show’s TRPs have dropped after his exit from the show and Kapil Sharma’s attempt of hiring a senior comedian Mr. Raju Srivastava to keep the viewers entertained also seems to have failed.
The Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) report shows, The Kapil Sharma’s comedy show no longer makes it to the top 5 highest TRP rated programs of India on Indian television. Ultimately Kapil Sharma was not able to solve the issue.
