President Ramnath Kovind expressed concern over the security lapses of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Punjab. Today, Prime Minister Modi went to the Presidential Palace to meet Kovind. During the meeting, President Kovind expressed his concern.

The Prime Minister was stranded on a flyover for about 20 minutes on the way from Bhatinda Airport to Ferozepur due to protests. As a result, Modi canceled all his programs and returned to Bhatinda.

Meanwhile, a case has been filed in the apex court today alleging negligence in the security of the Prime Minister. It is learned that the case will be heard on Friday. The plaintiff’s lawyer alleged that “there has been gross negligence on the part of the Punjab government insecurity.” A thorough investigation is required. “We need to make sure that this does not happen again in the future,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has formed a two-member inquiry committee to thoroughly investigate yesterday’s incident. The committee comprises retired Haryana High Court Justice Mehtab Gill and Chief Secretary to the state Home Ministry Justice Anurag Verma. The committee will report to the Channi government in detail within three days.
